Make sure
you will never forget your next trip to France by choosing the lovely village
of Brantôme for a destination. Here you will find a chic hotel with blue window
shutters, fairy tale-like ivy on the walls and beautiful flowers at every
window. It is the lovely Moulin de l’Abbaye hotel, a truly magical place.
Actually,
these romantic features are present almost everywhere in the village, giving it
a very unique charm. Another thing that makes this village a very special one
is the Dronne River which meanders through it, and which brought it the name
“Venice of Périgord”. The 4-star hotel itself is set right on the river bank
and very close to one of the main attraction of the village: the Pont Coudé, an
oddly-shaped bridge built in the 16th century.
The hotel
was originally a mill, and even though it has been renovated, its original
beauty hasn’t been affected a bit. On a lovely riverside terrace guests can
enjoy exquisite meals from a very coquette restaurant. This is a perfect spot
for romantic dinners, especially when the lights of the bridge start dancing in
the glittering waters of the river at night.
With an
alluring traditional design, all rooms in the Moulin de l’Abbaye are tastefully
furnished and decorated, with no two suites looking exactly the same. The
common areas are also rustic and warm, yet elegant and stylish, with rattan
seating, traditional checkered fabrics, and white washed woodwork. Dreamy
in every way.
