The
InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is the fourth resort in
the portfolio of InterContinental French Polynesia resorts.
Opened in May 2006,
the resort features an eco-friendly air-conditioning system by using the cold
of deep-sea water extracted from the Pacific Ocean and its spa is the very
first Thalasso spa in the world to utilize the benefits of the deep-sea water
and minerals in all of its signature treatments.
Eco-luxury
The
InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is located on a virgin
beach on the “Motu Piti Aau” along the eastern side of Bora Bora and is
accessible only by boat. The view of the main Island from the Resort is unique,
especially the “Mount Otemanu” (727m), rising majestically across the blue
crystal waters of the lagoon.
The
InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa features 83 villas,
including 80 overwater and 3 on a Motu: 8 villas “Otemanu Diamond” at the end
of the platform, 6 villas “Otemanu Diamond” with a splendid view of the Otemanu
Mount and the lagoon, 25 villas “Diamond” with a view of Bora Bora, 22 villas
“Sapphire” with a view of the lagoon, 19 villas “Emerald” with the view of the
beach and the motu, 3 rooms are accessible for physically challenged guests, 3
villas family type motu, nestled in a coconut plantation.
InterContinental
Hotels Group has paid close attention that all overwater villas are decorated
in a typical and authentic Polynesian way. The villas are traditional in style
yet include the latest technologies in modern architecture. All villas have the
same configuration.
The bedroom
features a gorgeous glass wall that overlooks the lagoon. In your villa’s
spacious living room, a glass coffee table offers a direct view on the pristine
waters of the lagoon. You will just have to open it and throw some pieces of
bread to see the colorful submarine life of Bora Bora.
With a
separate shower and bath, double washbasin and complimentary range of luxury
amenities, the bathrooms in our overwater villas are relaxing and luxurious.
Simply taking a bath is a delight with the unforgettable view of the lagoon
through the bathroom picture window.
Terraces
have been designed to offer comfort and intimacy. The upper part shadowed and
protected by a roof is perfect for nice romantic diners and fresh naps whereas
the sundeck offers direct access to the lagoon and a fresh shower.
To top it
all off, the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is the first
hotel in the world to use seawater air conditioning (SWAC), for all of its
cooling requirements. The Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa
promotes the values of ecotourism and sustainable development so that future
generations will be able enjoy these heavenly places.
