Faraday Future’s insane FFZero1 concept car may just be able
to give Tesla a run for its money.
Having debuted at CES in Las Vegas a couple of months ago,
the super cool luxury design has been getting tons of attention for its crazy
look that is half Batmobile and half racecar.
Even more impressive is that the company itself has only
been around for a year and a half.
“Our goal was to build a car with a sixth sense for its
driver’s intentions and needs—one with adaptive personalization, seamless
transfer of custom vehicle configurations, access to live images, and real time
data visualization,” says the company on their official site.
The auto apparently has four Quad Core Motors that offer
over 1,000 hp, can hit 0-60 in less than three seconds and reach a top speed of
over 200 mph (322 Kmh).
The single front seat was inspired by NASA’s zero gravity
design and are meant to give the driver a feeling of weightlessness, while
reducing fatigue. The 30-minute video above is certainly worth the time to
watch the unveiling of this new concept car.
According to IGN, the chassis is really where it’s at, since
Faraday wants to use the same design in their production model, sort of like
what Tesla did when they gave the same chassis to their Model S and Model X
crossover.
Though the FFZero1 isn’t street legal and probably won’t be
put in production for years, it does seem to imply that Faraday is serious
about competing with Tesla.
What are your thoughts? Does Tesla Motors finally have some
real competition?
