The Grace Mykonos, looking southwest over the Aegean to
Rínia islet from Ágios Stéfanos cove, has made a name for itself with its
meticulously equipped rooms, attentive service and excellent food. It's a
flagship member of the growing international Grace luxury hotel chain.
They overuse the word rather gracelessly—Grace Suite, Grace
Boutique Spa, State of Grace Restaurant & Bar, With Good Grace Gym—but it
really is the right one to describe the cool serenity of this 32-room hotel
just above Agios Stefanos Beach, about five minutes by taxi from Mykonos Town.
The decor is minimalist, in every shade of pale, highlighted by a single
oversized photo, backlit and printed on canvas of some reposeful natural
element. Some rooms have private terraces with hot tubs from which to enjoy the
Aegean views. As might be guessed, this is not a hotel for the see-and-be-seen
crowd but one that allows you to escape from Mykonos’s nightly madness and
relax, mostly by the pool (where breakfast is served, at whatever hour suits).
The restaurant’s bar is a perfect place to enjoy an evening cocktail,
especially if the ever-thoughtful staff have advised you of the exact moment of
sunset.
