Bugatti promised to bring a modern-day Type 57 SC Atlantic,
now they have revealed an ultimate La Voiture Noire. Showcased at Geneva Motor
Show, it is described as “Ultimate GT” as company’s CEO Stephen Winkelmann.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire is not exactly new and builds on Chiron that includes
custom, and very impressive, bodywork. The term “La Voiture Noire” means “The
Black Car” in French. Bugatti claims that La Voiture Noire is reminiscence of
Type 57 SC Atlantic. Thankfully, nothing has been changed to modify the optical
flow but it includes bumpers are integrated into the body and the window design
was inspired by a helmet visor.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire comes with black glossy finish
chosen for the handcrafted carbon fiber bodywork. There is also windscreen
appearing to flow seamlessly into the side windows. No changes have been made
to the powertrain. Bugatti La Voiture Noire is powered with 8.0 liter
quad-turbo W16. It generates an output of 1,479hp and 1,600 Nm of torque. The
same is also present on Chiron and on the new Divo and enhances by the six
tailpipes located at the rear.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire has now become as world’s most
expensive new car with a price tag of €16.7 million. If reports are to be
believed, this Bugatti is purchased by Volkswagen former boss Ferdinand Piech.
He is also proud owner of several expensive cars including many renowned Le
Mans cars. At this marquee event, his son will showcase family’s first
production vehicle.
