We’ve
written about hotels, cars, products and it’s now time to look at the
best places to eat in the entire world right now, as the Elite Traveler
magazine has put together a list with the top 20 restaurants in the world in
2012. The current list is topped by the Alinea, in Chicago, USA.
It has thus
been given the award “the best restaurant in the world” – this was possible due
to the emotional approach towards dining, decked with extreme modernism. Alinea
is closely followed from behind by The Fat Duck, British chef Heston
Blumenthal’s creation. Located in Bray, it has “pushed the boundaries of
British gastronomy.” The style assumed by this restaurant packs a total
reinvention of the traditional British classic meals, heightening the
customers’ senses.
The last on
the podium is Thomas Keller’s New York Restaurant Per Se, a place where luxury
can be eaten in the main sense of the word. It is closely knit to The French
Laundry in Yountville, California, currently occupying the 14th position on our
list. Thomas Keller is the only chef to boast two different restaurants on the
list.
This list
also highlights Restaurant magazine’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list,
beautifully contrasting to it. Furthermore, the list is based on the opinions
of readers and wealthy individuals.
