Four Seasons Hotel
Debuts in December 2019
Following more than 10 million euro of investment, LesChalets du Mont d’Arbois, Megève, A Four Seasons Hotel, the historic 5-star
hotel of the Edmond de Rothschild family, will open on December 13, 2019. The
chalets complement the existing Four
Seasons Hotel Megève, which opened in December 2017. Les Chalets are ideally
located at the foot of the ski slopes of Mont d’Arbois in the upper region of
Megève, and only two kilometres (1.2 miles) from the existing hotel. The sister
properties are offered in partnership with Edmond de Rothschild Heritage.
Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois are named after Benjamin and
Ariane de Rothschild’s first three daughters. Each chalet features its own
personality: Chalet Eve has kept its traditional style, Chalet Noémie features
classic luxury décor and refined elegance, and Chalet Alice offers a bohemian
chic atmosphere.
The main chalet, renamed Chalet Eve, was bought by Edmond de
Rothschild in 1960 to host a celebration to inaugurate the renovation of the
family’s very first hotel, Le Palace des Neiges. It features 25 rooms and
suites, one star Micheline restaurant Prima Restaurant by Chef Nicolas
Hensinger and a spa with a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool. Chalet Noémie was
built in 1927 for Baroness Noémie de Rothschild by French architect Henry
Jacques Le Même, and was initially the family’s private chalet. Built in 2005
as an extension to Chalet Noémie, Chalet Alice, is the most recent of the three
chalets.
Baroness Ariane de Rothschild invited the renovation from
Thierry Curty, under the artistic direction of Pierre-Yves Rochon. Les Chalets
du Mont d’Arbois have been modernized while preserving the charm of bygone
eras. Wood-framed windows, exposed ancient beams, aged pine wood, rough stone
and traditional alpine fabrics dominate the Alpine chic decor. The interior
materials combine in a playful mix of textures, the tactile fabrics creating an
eye-catching look and feel.
Guests of Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois will be able to enjoy
skiing on the Mont d’Arbois slopes in the winter, along with many more
activities that highlight the beauty of Megève.
