Why
Egoista? Because it is not meant to be shared! The new sultry supercar from
Lamborghini is fitted with only one seat, so that the joys and thrills of
rushing it on the streets are exclusively reserved for the driver.
The Egoista
was designed as a tribute to the automaker’s 50th anniversary. Its maker was
Italian car designer and head of Volkswagen Group Design, Walter De Silva. The
driver’s cockpit works as “a sort of survival cell”, being crafted entirely
from carbon fiber. It was envisioned as a very futuristic element, a special
cockpit that could be removed from a jet aircraft and easily integrated into a
car.
Powering
the concept is a 5.2-liter V10 engine delivering up to 600 hp. This immediately
suggests mind-boggling performance, which goes excellently well with the
anti-radar character of the car’s body and rims. Its maker really felt free to
give it all the features he wanted – a true symbol of well-deserved egoism.
And we say
“well-deserved” because Lamborghini has given everything to satisfying its
clients for half a century, so it is only fitting that this one-off creation
should boast all the characteristics that the fabled automaker wants for
itself. After all, this is “a gift from Lamborghini to Lamborghini”.
