Angsana Corfu Resort & Spa

This stunning spa and beach resort offers a unique combination of Asian and Greek hospitality.
Built around Corfu's biggest infinity pool, the main building and the individual pool villas have incredible views of the Ionian Sea and mainland Greece. Luxurious yet relaxed, the Angsana is perfect for couples and families.

Close to the shallow beach and tourist restaurants of Benitses, a seven-mile drive from the airport and a nine-mile drive from Corfu Town. The hotel is perched on a pretty hillside on the island’s east coast.

Situated next to the pool, the hotel’s main building has straight lines, pale stone, and dark wood, creating a look that is reminiscent of sailing yachts of yesteryear and smart villas of northern Italy. Chic without trying too hard, the resort is modern in design but with plenty of comfortable corners to lounge. Original art, sculpture, and beautiful rugs add to the tasteful vibe.

With a huge contemporary gym, beautiful indoor and outdoor pools, Corfu’s largest hotel spa, and a variety of bars and restaurants, you could spend all your holiday here without feeling the need to leave. There’s a great welcome at the private beach club, where you’ll also find water sports and refreshments. A tennis court is in the works but walking trails and a yoga deck mean there’s no shortage of things to do for anyone seeking activity.

All rooms are inspired by Corfu’s Island lifestyle and the Banyan Tree hotel chain’s Far East philosophy. Whilst not jaw-dropping, they are light-filled and stylish, with a relaxed mix of softwood and muted tones. Some face the Achilleion Hill, others the Ionian Sea. All have a balcony or outdoor space and a day bed. The 37 private pool villas are the ultimate luxury with a kitchen area and every amenity you could wish for. Funky beach bags, coffee machines, and two types of robes are nice touches.

The resort offers a huge range of dining in four restaurants. Diners can choose from Asian Fusion at Koh, an international-style buffet at Ruen Romsai, sophisticated Greek dishes with local Corfiot delicacies in Sofrito, and a stunning Mediterranean menu by a Michelin-starred chef at Botrini’s. Be prepared to pay top hotel prices. There is also all-day dining by the pool and at the beach club.

The complimentary breakfast buffet is huge and there is something for all tastes. Eggs are cooked to order and a barista works flat out delivering flawless flat whites. As a treat, the hotel will organize private waterfront dining under the stars. For a drink try the juice bar after a workout, then as the sun sets have a cocktail at Vertigo on the roof.
