Mirihi Island Resort, South Ari Atoll - Maldives

Set on a private island amid the warm waters of the azure Indian Ocean, Mirihi Island Resort welcomes guests to experience secluded Maldivian luxury in a spectacular setting.
Mirihi Island Resort is an exceptional property in the Maldives, situated on an idyllic palm-fringed island with just 7 thatched beach villas and 31 attractive water villas, all surrounded by a stunning house reef. However, with so few rooms and such an excellent reputation for high quality, good food, and relaxation, you will need to book very early (at least 12 months ahead for Christmas and Easter) to avoid disappointment. Mirihi Island Resort is just perfect for a quiet, intimate holiday or honeymoon.

The 37 tastefully appointed villas all have designer furnishings, polished wooden floors, king-size or twin beds, air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a fully stocked mini-bar. Beach Villas are extremely spacious and boast an open-air bathroom and direct beach access. Water Villas are built on stilts over the lagoon, all with large, luxurious bathrooms overlooking the ocean through large sliding glass doors. The Two Bedroom Overwater Suite offers the ultimate over-water experience, consisting of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living area, a furnished decking area, and its own jetty. The newest addition to the resort is the Beach House, offering two bedrooms with open-air bathrooms, a spacious living room, office space, kitchenette, and dining area, plus direct access to the beach and spectacular ocean views from the first-floor terrace. The resort is known as being a 'no news, no shoes' island, and as such there has been a conscious decision not to supply televisions in the rooms - however, for those who cannot live without the cricket score, there is a satellite TV in the lobby!

Mirihi Island Resort has a superb reputation for its cuisine and offers a range of dining venues. There is a sand-floored buffet restaurant serving international specialties and local seafood, as well as a romantic, over-water restaurant offering a la carte dining. There are also two bars, one of which is a wine lounge showcasing around 300 wines from around the world, and the other serves delicious cocktails and light snacks by the beach while boasting the largest collection of fine rum in the Indian Ocean.

Guests staying on the island can take part in a good range of water sports including snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, while a highly regarded dive school caters to scuba divers of all abilities. Back on dry land, facilities include a fully equipped fitness center, a yoga pavilion where daily yoga classes are held, a beach cinema, one of the biggest telescopes in the Maldives allowing for stargazing, and a relaxing spa. Varied excursions allow guests to visit nearby reefs, seek out whale sharks, explore local islands, and enjoy sunrise fishing trips, while other experiences include beach barbeques, Maldivian cooking classes, cocktail classes, Champagne and wine tasting, and more.
