Launched in
2011 and built by Pendennis Shipyard , the 44m luxury yacht Hemisphere is one
of the largest sailing catamarans in the world. Pendennis partnered with
leading multihull naval architects Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost (VPLP) –
designers of the 33rd America’s Cup winning multihull.
A
Groundbreaking Vessel
Celebrated
superyacht interior designers Michael Leach Design and the entire team behind
the build have pooled their respective talents and expertise to accomplish the
execution of this groundbreaking vessel. The result is an innovative design
brimming with creatively practical features that blend speed and stability with
both space and style to encompass the pure essence of innovation in the
multihull market.
With a
draft of just over 3m (9.8ft), Hemisphere ensures ease of manoeuvrability and
the scope to cruise shallow draft destinations inaccessible to monohulls of
comparable size. Decks and rig are remarkably uncluttered as visible deck
hardware has been minimised and the 58m (190ft) high mast soars free of
spreaders with all lines run internally. Tenders are also stowed out of sight
and the port transom houses a full watersports and dive locker served by a
large hydraulic swim platform.
High Degree
of Luxury
Destined
for the luxury charter market in tropical climates, Hemisphere boasts a
spacious flybridge with jacuzzi, sunpads and shaded dining along with a vast
indoor/outdoor living area on the main deck. The extraordinary beam provides
vast deck spaces offering every conceivable comfort, from alfresco dining to
sunset bars, and from a spa pool with a view to direct access to the water.
Michael
Leach Design’s relaxed, elegant interior is the epitome of contemporary chic
and the yacht’s exceptional volume offers a high degree of luxury without a
trace of glitz. Dark wood floors are offset by a soothing neutral colour
palette with innumerable customised touches such as seventeen different types
of granite and sixteen leather finishes, creating an ‘island living meets
deluxe Pacific Rim ambience’.
Bathed in
light, warm in tone and completely unconventional, Hemisphere’s interior and
exterior spaces are typical of the yacht’s general attitude: flowing and
relaxed, social and informal. The award-winning interior combines 18 types of
leather and 15 different types of stone in a style attuned to Polynesian six-star
luxury. From the vast saloon with its distinctive zones, to the cinema room and
the highly individual guest suites, her sumptuous beach chic feel creates the
ultimate retreat.
Accommodation
for 12 guests is arranged in 5 comfortable ensuite cabins and the yacht will
operate with a professional crew of 10. The inviting and contemporary guest
cabins include two VIP suites on the main deck, each with access to the forward
terrace. Perfect as individual suites, they can also be combined to create one
immense master cabin.
Sensational
views greet guests at every turn, not just from the exterior decks and the
spectacular spa pool on the flying bridge, but also from the split-level saloon
– 100 square metres of outstanding design that has a raised seating area
offering a panorama of the ocean.
The luxury
Sail Yacht Hemisphere is available for charter with Burgess, one of the
superyacht industry leader.
