The 2013
Geneva Motor Show has witnessed the launch of the very impressive Wiesmann GT
MF4-CS with monocoque frame chassis, mid-engine configuration, and rear-wheel
drive. Due to the lightweight material of the cassis and its fiberglass body,
the two-seater is only 1,350 kg (less than 3,000 lbs.) in weight. Oh, and let
us not forget the carbon fiber rear wing.
In terms of
looks, we can probably all agree that the car boasts a retro-inspired design
but with a very alluring contemporary edginess. It features excellent
aerodynamics, which helps the 4.0-liter V8 engine push it to its maximum speed
of 293 km/h (182 mph) with almost no effort at all. The 0-62 mph sprint is
completed in only 4.4 seconds, thanks to the engine’s 420 HP and 400 Nm of
torque, and the 7-speed double-clutch transmission, with steering wheel paddle
shifters.
Fitted with
excellent safety systems, the car is very reliable in the city and on the
highway as well. It flaunts an integrated side impact protection system, engine
immobilizer, airbags, safety steering, ABS, and DSC, along with other advanced
technologies meant to keep you safe at any time and all speeds. Apparently one
of these fierce rides will set you back over €193,000 ($250,000).
