We rarely
write about resorts or hotels in Europe, but when we do it means they’re simply
amazing. This time we’ve focused on the Le Mirador Kempinski hotel, located in
Switzerland, overlooking Lake Geneva. The hotel is just an hour’s drive away
from the International Airport in Geneva and Bern. It can be reached via
helicopter, as it sports a helipad, by cable car or by train – the idyllic
Lavaux train.
The hotel
shares absolutely superb views of Vevey and Lake Geneva, while being fiercely
guarded by Mount Pelerin. The young staff offers exquisite services, assisting
you even while lounging in your own private patio. The hotel’s Givenchy Spa
makes sure you get pampered in every way, while, at nights, you may choose to
get inside you state of the art room, endowed with amenities that will make you
forget the word “home” ever existed.
If it is
the outside that you prefer, then you can practice kite-surfing and skiing or
you may embark upon journeys to the local Chillon Castle – a bit of culture
never hurts, does it?
You won’t
go hungry, don’t worry, as the local Le Trianon is ready to pamper your taste
buds with every dish you dream of. There’s also Le Patio, a restaurant focusing
on informal Mediterranean dishes, and Au Chalet, a traditional Swiss outpost.
Nightly
rates start at €250 per night. You may choose every one of the total 64 rooms
available if you book yours in time.
