Bucherer’s $1.79 Million Harley-Davidson Blue Edition Is the World’s Most Expensive Motorcycle

Swiss watch and jewelry company Bucherer presents the Harley-Davidson Blue Edition, a one-of-a-kind model made in conjunction with Bündnerbike incorporating embellishments from the esteemed watchmakers and jewelers, and noted as the most expensive motorcycle in the world.

With a value of 1.8 million Swiss Francs or approximately $1.79 million USD (Euro 1.49 Million), this Blue Edition is based on the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S but with a complete makeover. The frame of the motorcycle is welded seamlessly, and even the rims are custom made. Notable design elements include its rotating camshaft visible through a window in the camshaft housing, along with the valve control and gold-plated throttle valves. Heat-resistant LED lights are implemented for a modern touch, and it’s also the world’s first motorcycle to have a motor that is lit up from the inside.
In addition, various parts of the motorcycle are also gold-plated to further exude its lavish flair. Furthermore, the motorcycle bears a special detail with its iridescent color. To achieve the intense blue hue, a specific technique had to be employed, as it was first silver-plated, before six color coatings were then applied using a secret coating method.
The specialists of Bündnerbike took a year to design and produce this special Harley-Davidson Blue Edition, as a team of eight employees from both companies, along with more than 2,500 working hours were invested in this project.
With the motorcycle incorporating the arts of watchmaking and jewellery making, a striking detail is the implementation of the Dizzler rotating ring from the Bucherer Fine Jewelry collection, which is mounted on the hand grips, while another pair of Dizzler diamond rings is found on the forks, followed by a larger version located in the left half of the tank.
Furthermore, another piece of jewelry can be found in a retractable safe underneath a glass dome made from armoured glass, located on the body – a six-prong Heaven solitaire ring with a 5.40-carat diamond. This is also a unique feature, as is the watch from Carl F. Bucherer at its side. This special custom-made watch, which is based on the Patravi TravelTec II model, is located in a second safe in the right half of the tank. The dial of this unique piece is adorned by elements of a motorcycle engine.
