Louis
Vuitton is serious about carbon fiber. After designing carbon black BMW i8Luggage set, the French fashion house has released the Damier Carbone Keepall
Bandouliere, made from the lightweight carbon fiber material which is usually
used in supercars, planes and yachts.
Louis
Vuitton first forayed into using the innovative material in 2010 with the
Damier Carbone Keepall 45. This year, the Damier Carbone Keepall is a bigger,
better and 35% lighter version of its Monogram counterpart.
The carbon
fiber coated canvas provides high tensile strength, chemical resistance and
high-temperature tolerance ideal for robust travelers. The Damier Carbone
Keepall features a removable and adjustable shoulder strap with patch, rounder
leather handles for easier portability.
Aluminum and silver brass metallic
pieces bear the brand’s padlock. The ultra-light microfiber lining is helmed
with cowhide leather trimmings with name tag, handles fastener and zipped
closure.
The Damier
Carbone Keepall Bandoulière comes in two sizes: 45 (17.7″ x 9.8″ x 7.9″) for
2.380 Euro ($3,300) and 55 (21.7″ x 11.8″ x 9.4″) available for 2.630 Euro ($3,650).
